In case you don’t know the story -
In 2021, after hearing me mention that I would like to learn how to ollie, my son, Miles, bought me a skateboard for Christmas. Excitedly, I asked my friend Camille to make me two sweatshirts, one for myself and one for a friend whose kids had also bought her a skateboard. They said “Moms Skate Club” on them. Mine arrived in late February, days after Miles had died.
Last year, on Miles’ birthday we offered the sweatshirt for sale and the response we received was tremendous. It felt good to have something to smile about on such a sad day, something that felt inspired by him and that he would have liked. Through the sale we were able to raise over $11,000, which we donated to the OnSite Foundation.
We have decided to do it a second time this year, and we have designed a new sweatshirt for the occasion. All proceeds collected will go to the Make Life Skate Life organization, a 501c Non-Profit that seeks to make skateboarding accessible to underserved youth around the world.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and especially to anyone who considers purchasing one. This is a small thing, we know, but it’s meaningful to us, Miles’ friends and family. So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you 🤍. The sale will run from 10 AM June 26th to 11:59 PM June 27th (all times in CT), and you can purchase a sweatshirt via our partner, N.B. GOODS, at the link below.
